Mechanical HVAC Contractors

First Steps:

The first step in the HVAC cooling process is the intake of warm air from the building or room that needs to be cooled. This air is drawn into the system through a series of ducts or vents, where it is then filtered to remove any dust or debris. Once the air has been cleaned, it is directed to the evaporator coil, which is located inside the HVAC unit.

The evaporator coil is filled with a refrigerant, which is a substance that has the ability to absorb heat when it evaporates. As the warm air from the building passes over the coil, the refrigerant evaporates, absorbing the heat from the air. This causes the air to cool down, and it is then circulated back into the building through the ducts or vents. This process continues until the desired temperature is reached. The cooled refrigerant is then sent to compressor and then condenser to release the heat absorbed earlier to the outside air.

Next Steps:

After the refrigerant has absorbed the heat from the indoor air, it then moves to the compressor. The compressor compresses the refrigerant, raising its temperature and pressure. This causes it to release the heat it has absorbed in the evaporator coil.

The hot, compressed refrigerant then flows to the condenser coil, which is typically located outside the building. Here, the refrigerant releases the heat it has absorbed to the outside air. This is done through a process called heat exchange, where the hot refrigerant coming out of the compressor is cooled by the outside air passing over the condenser coil. As the refrigerant cools, it condenses into a liquid and is then sent back to the evaporator coil to start the cooling process again. This is a continuous cycle and the thermostat in the building controls the temperature and turns on and off the system according to the requirement.

Chemical & Petrochemical Industry

Chemical and petrochemical plants have many different industrial HVAC and refrigeration configurations depending upon the products being produced. These processors often require a broad range of pressures, flows and operating temperatures to meet precise production requirements. Although chemical and petrochemical reactions are not as strictly controlled as those in the pharmaceutical industry, precise control of temperature is a crucial factor in attaining higher efficiencies in chemical transformations. KR Mechanical provides the mechanical and refrigeration process technology and solutions for organic chemical production, such as:

  • ethylene and olefins

  • xylenes and aromatics

  • intermediates and derivatives

  • methanol

  • biofuels

  • specialty chemicals

  • refined chemicals

  • polycarbonates and plastics

  • complex organic intermediates

Final Steps:

Once the refrigerant has completed its cycle through the compressor, condenser, and evaporator, it returns to the expansion valve. The expansion valve is a device that regulates the flow of refrigerant into the evaporator. As the refrigerant flows through the valve, it expands and its pressure drops. This causes it to absorb more heat as it evaporates, further cooling the air.

The cooled air is then circulated throughout the building, providing a comfortable living or working environment for the occupants. The system also includes controls such as thermostat, which monitors the temperature and adjusts the system accordingly to maintain the desired temperature set by the user. Additionally, the system also includes a filter that captures dust, debris and other contaminants from the air, ensuring that the air inside the building is clean and healthy to breathe. The HVAC system also includes a compressor, that runs the whole cycle of refrigerant and also maintains the desired pressure and temperature of the refrigerant.
